Vangelis ‎– Direct

Vangelis greatest album. After splitting from Polydor and moving away from London Vangelis set up a new studio in Greece and planned to release a series of albums that would become a project in sonic and musical exploration. Alas this was the only one to get recorded.But what a mighty effort it is.The opening track ‘Motion Of Stars’ is classic Vangelis and reminds me of his best seventies work on Spiral before moving into ‘Will Of The Wind’. The synths sound great! The second best track on the album ‘Metallic Rain’ then follows allowing the great man to show off his percussion talents.
