This release presents Barney Kessel’s complete original 1959 album Some Like it Hot (Contemporary CS7565) This fantastic LP presents Kessel swinging along with the great Art Pepper, ill-fatted trumpeter Joe Gordon, pianist Jimmy Rowles and drummer Shelly Manne, among others. As a bonus, a complete extremely rare 1956 quartet session by Kessel with Rowles again at the piano, taken from the soundtrack on a TV show, which appears here ON CD FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER
