This is an unauthorized re-issue of the album “Paul Desmond,” Artists House, cat. # AH9402. The name of the album and the artwork have been changed, but it the same performances of the same songs in the same order as on AH9402.

This CD contains a complete set by Paul Desmond’s so-called Canadian Quartet, recorded live at the Bourbon Street Club in Toronto. A series of performances at this club were recorded in 1975 and some of the music recorded has appeared on The Paul Desmond Quartet’s “Live” and “Like Someone In Love” albums. This release marks the first time that this set has ever appeared on CD.

Highlights are one of only three existing recordings of “Audrey” in the altoist’s discography (an homage to Audrey Hepburn co-composed by Desmond and Brubeck), and his only known reading of the standard “When Sunny Gets Blue.”
