This release presents the complete original LP Nigeria (Blue Note LT-1032), featuring the great Grant Green in a quartet setting backed by Sonny Clark on piano, Sam Jones on bass, and Art Blakey on drums. Two tracks (a version of “Nancy” and an alternate take of Sonny Rollins’ “Airegin”) which complete the session but were not included on the LP have been added here as a bonus, as well as a wonderful early version of “Grant’s First Stand” recorded with Wynton Kelly on piano.
